My mother was recently admitted to St. Lukes with abdominal problems. It was my mother's first hospitalization and she was given wonderful care by the nurses and her family physican is always caring and great. However we overheard some doctor's conversations with a nurse and they were shocking. We couldn't believe it! My brother asked some questions and found out that these two doctors were the hospitalists. They were verbally abusive to her! There were two that were over the top in demeaning speech one was an ARNP. It had an affect not only on our family members but another family also. We would not recommend going to St. Lukes if a person did not have a family doctor to take care of them and we are spreading the word.

Sadly, Mercy doctors treat their nurses just as poorly. Overpaid and possessed of over-inflated egos, Siouxland physicians get away with antics that would get regular working folks fired and arrested. Just go to Mercy post-op and watch the cardiologists throw clipboards at the nurses.
